Abstract

Poder ara neva Tornar. Infinitival adverbs, a kind of co-verb in Catalan In Catalan There are Two infinitives That can be used as adverbs: poder 'possibly' and Tornar 'again'. These sort of words have received little attention from Catalan grammarians. The aim of This article is To attempt To explain how These infinitival adverbs might have arisen. Incidentally, it is proposed That They be called «co-verbs», a name which is already usual in many schools of grammar, but which has not gained currency in The Catalan grammatical Tradition.
