Abstract

Se analiza aquí la posible superación de la contradicción campo-ciudad como una tendencia a la diferenciación espacial fruto de la geografía del capitalismo en crisis, y como elemento novedoso en las actuales relaciones entre el espacio y la sociedad mediadas por la fragmentación socioespacial. Se exploran, en primer lugar, las principales aportaciones que han tenido como objeto esa contradicción, con lo que establecer sus límites conceptuales. En segundo lugar se propone la urbanización planetaria como el desarrollo teórico de la contradicción campo-ciudad, y la urbanización diferencial como su método con la que empirizarla en última instancia. Se definen, por último, en forma de consideraciones, las relaciones entre diferenciación espacial, fragmentación socioespacial y contradicción campo-ciudad, como variables ascendentes del presente cambio social.
