Resumen

The square and the orchards delimit the four houses in Vilanova de Mei & agrave; projected by Ramon Maria Puig in a rural village in the inland of Catalonia. Rehabiting two old houses in the main square for a new community made up of four families for temporary occupation and tourism could distance the project from the context and tradition of the place. However, Puig links the public and the festive with the intimate and the quotidian through a reading of the pre-existence for a collective and contemporary use. The landscape between the Montsec mountain and the river Boix penetrates the domestic interiors, connecting different scales and gradients of living in the late 70s.
